Gideon Rubin

An Experienced and Nurturing Teacher
conductor of the Lapca youth orchestras

Dr. Gideon Rubin has been teaching piano for over 20 years.  He is currently on the piano faculty of the Colburn School Community School of Performing Arts in Los Angeles.  He earned his Bachelor Degree from Harvard University, his Masters from Boston University School of the Arts, and his Doctorate from the University of Southern California.  He is an active member of MTAC and MTNA.

Dr. Rubin is a passionate advocate of the youth orchestra movement.  In 2009 he founded the Youth Orchestra program at the Los Angeles Music and Art School and conducted it until 2016.  The orchestra performed at Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, and the Broad Stage.
